This and That

Dane's Christmas Concert - a toy cowboy who came to life

Dane's Christmas wish list

Lew and I made a quick trip to G and G's in Quesnel so he could see them before he leaves on his mission!

Then it was the other kids' concert...yes, 2 different nights, of course.  This is a shot of Jimmy's head in the back.  He plays trombone and the band teacher said he does really well actually!

Here's Jim leaving the stage with his trombone

Reggie getting ready for his class performance.  He also plays the trombone.  Good thing we have a trombonist in the family who offers free extra lessons at home!  (Taylor!)

Saying good bye to Grammy and Grampy

This awesome girl just got home from her mission in Denver area, Spanish speaking!  Alexa Young

My cousin, Mariette, has motivated me to get my butt in shape...again...sigh.  So I try to workout, 30 minutes a day, 6 days a week.  So far so good...I use Beachbody and Mariette is my private coach!  This workout is Country Heat...one that I've come to love because it's fast moving, fun and effective!

Dottie getting upset with Quin for pulling the gift out of his reach at the exact moment he is about to snatch it up!

Ryan, Kait and Davey

We had our family Christmas on the 16th as most everyone is going to be away on Christmas Day.  I'm a little bummed about it, but it's going to happen with this many people in a family...sharing time with 'other' families!

...patiently waiting to open...

Odis was waiting for his gift...but he doesn't get it until the real day!

I am no so anal about how the tree looks...maybe that's what happens after so many years...so I let the kids have at it this year...and of course, right when you need it to look it's best, the centre lights burn out!

Nana got Mika a Mermaid blanket...she loves it!

...and Princess Poppy!

The 'dogs' got Nana a game called Bean-Boozled.  You spin and get a jelly belly flavour...for example, coconut or spoilt milk...popcorn or dirty socks...and some other very disgusting flavours.  A 'discard' bowl was passed around of course, because 'booger' flavour just doesn't go down!  Here's Jenna about to puke....

Odis was tuckered out after the big day.

Even in very cold temperatures, Reggie really wanted to start on an igloo.

I got to have a few days with this handsome dude.  I call him Ducky.  He kind of sounds like he's quacking and snorting when he starts to get fussy.  But overall, he's a happy, smiley, dimply guy.

Kaitlin used her talents again to make this cake for Lewis' farewell.  We all went to church together, Austin gave a talk, Lewis spoke and our entire family sang the EFY Medley.  Everywhere I looked people were crying...I hope it was the spirit moving them, and not because we sounded bad! lol

Now this...is...BIG.  Our last 3rd grader...which means an end to the grade 3 bridge building projects!  He is number 11 and I'm so happy I don't have to see another one!  Good-bye bridges.  I won't miss you.  But Dane's was pretty strong...and as you can tell, we let them do it ALL BY THEMSELVES, not like the parent of a student in Jenna's 3rd grade class.  We walked in and saw something resembling a 2nd year engineering student's project, not 7 year olds!  Paper mache town with gelled water and a battery powered draw bridge.

And...this guy...birthday boy on the 20th.  Gotta make it special so it doesn't run into Christmas!  24 he is.  Time goes by so fast.  We had his fav, Chicken Enchiladas and Linds made the cake.  Happy Birthday T!!!!
