Brittany's Eye Surgery

2 weeks ago on the 14th of March, Brittany braved bilateral eye surgery. She was so amazing. She is usually very anxious when it comes to hospitals etc. but with lots of conversation, and reassurance, she didn't even cry. I was able to go into the theatre with her and help her until she went to sleep. At one point she felt the anesthetist put the needle in and the other doc told her what it was and asked if she wanted to see it and she promptly said "no, I don't want to see it!" After that, she drifted off and a couple hours later I spoke with the surgeon and he reported the success of the operation.

When she came out of recovery, she of course couldn't quite open her eyes but she knew I was there and said "Mom, somebody should give me Tylenol." The nurse and I laughed and laughed. It was so cute...again, trying to be brave when she was hurting...

We are happy she was so brave through the ordeal and she's the first to announce how her eyes are straight now, with great excitement! Great job Brit!
