Brighton Trip 2016

All of my big kids decided I needed to have a little getaway.  They so kindly went in together and set up with Gabe to send me over to England to visit Dave (known as Will in England) and Gabe for a couple weeks.  Part of the trip includes Gabe and I going over to Venice for a couple days.  So on Sunday, I caught a flight and made my way over the pond.

The countryside was just stunning in the early morning!

This is Gabe dragging one of the suitcases up the 3rd set of skinny stairways up to their flat.  It was brutal!  I was laughing because I didn't sleep on the plane, and now it was around 11 am and I was pretty stunned and clumsy.

I'll take more shots of the row housing with my 'real' camera later, but here is their street  with the English Channel at the only a few blocks down.

These dogs are hand painted by local artists all  over Brighton and Hove.  They will be auctioned  off soon and the monies given to a local charity.

The old West Pier built in 1866, closed in 1970 due to safety concerns, (it had been damaged by several storms and then burned down 2003.)

The new pier (Palace Pier) in the distance.

This is for real...I had to take a picture because I was seriously laughing as Gabe was explaining.  I really can't believe the number of things people do nowadays for a 'cause'.

Cute Lobster on the beach.

This is an amazing window display of a shop in Brighton (I think it's a tailor shop).  A bunch of old sewing machines.

Shops and little alley-ways

We HAD to stop for a snack.  Meringue and chocolate croissant.  Delish

First night here and got to see this beauty of a sunset out the kitchen window.

French patisseries!  I didn't have one of these, yet...

Gabe and I had Caprese Salad today...homemade with her own basil.  Perfect.

St Johns Centre in Hove (which is another city beside Brighton,  they run into each other.)
