Burnt Toast...

Life is ever-changing and I think I'm finally realizing that it's best to just 'roll with it'.  The struggles don't last forever (thank goodness), but sometimes the pain of some trials remain vivid in our memories.  But even then, we can access the atonement of Jesus Christ to help alleviate that pain.  Through Him we can truly find the light at the end of the tunnel.  In light of recent events (well, events over the past several years, actually...) I have found a gem in my memories to help me through.  Dennis was laid off after 16 years with Jacobs and it was a shock to our lives, for sure!  But, I now see an adventure ahead of us instead of panic.  I know we'll be okay because Den is one of the hardest working men I know and would do anything to provide for his family.  For this, I am so grateful.  It has also brought our entire family closer and is a learning opportunity for everyone.  Learning to prepare now for rainy days, to serve one another even more, to be mindful of others' feelings and to be empathetic, loving and patient.  Thank you to all my 'people'.  I hope this gem from Grandpa Newton can inspire and help you today, as well.
