Can it get any better than this?

I took this picture just yesterday...

...and today...

I will always remember this day...

This day, my oldest daughter gave birth to Calvin Mackenzie Jackson.  He was born via c-section at 10:59 am in Ft. McMurray, AB.  Kaitlin and her amazing husband, Ryan Jackson, welcomed baby Calvin into this world with open arms and open hearts...ready to share their love as a family.  Ryan was stellar, calm and tender.  Kaitlin cried when his first cries rang out!  And Gina, in Day Surgery, ran back and waited for the cry while I waited in the waiting room (lots of 'waiting') and ran back with a thumbs up and grin for me as soon as she heard him!  I cried tears of joy.  He's finally here!  Kaitlin had to 'hang out' in recovery for a couple hours, so Ry and I were able to go up with the nurse to weigh and measure him, check him over and all that good stuff.  He was 8 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches long.  He is strong!  He and his Daddy had some skin-to-skin cuddles while waiting for Mum to come up.  I was able to snuggle him and just take it all in.  It was so peaceful and quiet and I feel so confident in the love and care that his Mummy and Daddy will give him...the best thing a Nana could ask for!
