Changes

We've been in Ft. McMurray for 9.5 years and Dennis took a transfer back to the Calgary office.  After a lot of pondering, we decided to settle back into our life in Cochrane.  Our house hasn't sold in Ft. McMurray yet, so we are renting in Calgary and Lewis and the kids go out to Cochrane each day to school...so that when we do buy a house out there, it will be a smooth transition for all.

We LOVE being back 'home'.  Ft. McMurray served a great purpose in our lives for which we will be ever grateful.  Most especially, the people we have grown to love.  I miss my people there, but thanks to social media, we can still keep in close contact.

I'm especially grateful to be closer to Mac.  We buried him in the Airdrie Cemetery and yesterday we drove out for a little visit.  It raised those tender emotions involved with losing a child, but filled a void as well.  We are grateful for the Plan of Happiness that we know exists for us here on this earth...namely, that families can be together forever.  This knowledge has helped each of us have hope instead of despair at this time in our lives.

We are working on designing a beautiful headstone for Mac, now that it's spring.  During our visit, Dane asked everyone to "say something to Mac".  It was precious.  We held hands around the grave site and Dennis said a beautiful family prayer.  The things of most importance in this life were never more evident at that moment.
