Summer 2012 and all it's goodness!

Another summer, another family vacation filled with adventure, relaxation, together-time, music, guitars, sun, sand, water...and a 15 passenger van towing a trailer and a 2nd vehicle following...driving, driving and more driving...but it's always worth it!

This year we took off to Beautiful BC again and found our home away from home in Grand Forks, close to Christina Lake.  The house was just our size equipped with everything from a piano to air hockey/pool table/foosball and everything in between.  It was situated right on a beautiful river that was perfect for the kids to paddle around in or float down.

Kaitee's friend from Australia, Matty Burke came over to Canada to visit/work/stay/play and joined us on our vaca.  He got to see a lot of Alberta and BC on this journey!

Matty 'spotting' Aussie style...lol

Taylor and Dad built T's giant Lego crane-thingy...it was a task...but great fun for the boys!

Jen has been reading The Work and the Glory and loving it!

I took some long exposure shots of the starts at midnight...hoping to catch a couple meteors as it was the perfect timing for the Perseids meteor shower.  Lewis and I did see some meteors, but they were happening in a completely different direction away from my camera setup!  I did catch the beauty of the many stars we CAN'T see usually...and a few satellites.

View of the river from the house.

A pitstop for ice cream at D Dutchmen!  Yum.

Reggie took this shot from my phone...the last 5 hours of the long journey, I gave up my co-pilot spot to Elder Heinzlmeir.

We got home Monday at 4 and Taylor caught his plane to the MTC Tuesday at 7:45.  It was a bitter-sweet send-off.  We are so glad we got to spend some quality time together before he left.

Grandma Morris met us there to say good-bye.

Farewell Elder H.  See you soon...ish.  ;o)
