Sticking with tradition, the birthday celebration started with donuts for breakfast!
We were so happy that Taylor and Mac came home from Edmonton so we were all together to have some good family fun. The boys went to Mac Island and the girls to a movie.
Then we had Hawaiian Haystacks for supper and birthday cake and ice cream of course for dessert!
Jim and Reg are the same in a few ways...but they are mostly different.
Jimmy is tender, sensitive, knows all his letters and numbers and is already reading beginner books. Jimmy always asks "Mom, can I play Starfall please?" or "Can you read me this book?" On the iPad he is constantly spelling words and playing all the great educational apps I have on there. Mr. Smarty Pants.
Reg is sensitive as well, but he is always movin' and groovin' and trying to figure out how things work. He is ALWAYS asking questions...except questions about letters and numbers! He is much more interested in the mechanics of things. At a red light not long ago, he asked "Mom, when the light turns red and we have to stop, does the van just know the light is red and stops by itself?" I was blown away by that question!!! Of course I had to explain how brakes on a vehicle work so then he asked "so when the light turns green, you just take your foot off the brake and it goes again?" So then...I had to explain the gas peddle! He keeps us on our toes!
Our 2 boys are amazing and never cease to amaze us as they speed along in these growing up years. We love you boys and had so much fun celebrating your big day!
