Son with a kind heart=Mom with a warm heart.

I had parent-teacher interviews last night...side note...after keeping Jen, Lewis and Austin home for the fall to homeschool, they are all now back in the mainstream. Jen was home because of her health issues that we finally got answers to...she has a congenital heart defect in the form of a mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation. This translates in English as a 'leaky valve'. She is an anxious person normally, definitely OCD, and all this combined made for a rough year. But now, with answers and the right help, she is doing FANTASTIC-O! So she is thrilled to be back at Westwood with her mates.

Lew is moving into the English program now so I kept him home to try to get him up to speed in that subject, which French kids typically fall a bit short in...and his making good progress. He and Austin started back in the New Year at Beacon Hill School where Brittany and Brianna attend and we LOVE this school. They are doing great.

When I met with Lew's teachers last night, they all said, WOW, he is awesome, in every way. He is a leader, he is happy, helpful, outgoing, athletic, and kind-hearted. One of the teachers proceeded to give me an example.

The EA that works in the class with a couple girls who have some special needs told the teachers that she was looking in on the class in the gym on day and these girls were, as usual off to the sides as they aren't really able to do too much...and this was b-ball day...and Lewis saw them there and instead of taking the shot himself, he gently passed the ball to the girls and encouraged them and helped them play and participate. The EA said it brought tears to her eyes as this is a rare sight now-a-days.

I brought the kids home some Burger King and we celebrated and I hugged Lewis very tightly and let him know how much I love him and think he is an awesome person.

AND...his teacher also mentioned that even tho he missed half the unit in Social Studies, he got 100% on the test last week!

My heart is full...warm, very warm. Thank-you.
