Well, I was fortunate to tag along with Taylor and some of his classmates in Social AP for a tour of Paris and Berlin. We had an amazing time...here are the pictures...part A...next, when I have a moment or two, I will add the captions and info...
One of the trains in the Metro in Paris...we used the metro/trains to go EVERYWHERE!
In the Latin Quarter...Donairs to die for...with fries IN them.
Napoleon's tomb at l'Hotel des Invalides in Paris
Sacre Coeur
statue of Charles the Great, aka Charlemagne in front of Notre Dame
One of many stained glass windows in a Cathedral
The Seine...heart and soul of Paris
Under the city in the catacombs...NOT my favourite place...
The Sun God at the Louvre
On the train to Berlin
Berliner Dom. This cathedral was built by Julius and Otto Raschdorff between 1894 and 1905.
The Wall
No, he didn't buy these pants...but everyone wanted me to get them for him! There was a whole rack of them..popular in Europe....not so much Fort McMurray!
We went on a tour of Potsdam, just minutes out of Berlin. Here we found a city with multiple palaces and beautiful grounds...here is where Frederick the Great resided and is buried (Sanssouci Park).
Cecilienhof - where the Potsdam Conference took place in 1945.
Taylor with our tour guide, Giuseppe...an Italian...very funny and competent. Taylor decided to fashion himself after 'Pepe's' example and purchased a hat and some scarves to abide by the 'when in Rome' philosophy...and THIS, unlike the lime green pants, works in Canada as well!
AND...welcome home!
