Life Lessons and January stuff...

First, Life Lessons. Just to let all of our people know, contrary to the Christmas letter, NO ONE is the house is getting married any time soon! Mac and Kate were both engaged for a short time (to good people) but realized that they need some growing up time first. We are very proud of both of them for coming to their own decisions with confidence and maturity. Kaitlin has been accepted to Culinary Arts school in Vancouver and is leaving in about a month and a half and Mac will be leaving this fall to serve a mission for the church. We are so excited for them to have these great opportunities to learn and grow and get some life experience under their belts! My babies are all grown up! Yikes!!!

Eryn, Jen's best friend since 4th Grade and therefore our 'other daughter' is an only child and loves to be here where there is plenty of action...comparatively speaking...for short periods of times anyway...LOL

Eryn's parents are off on a warm, sunny adventure and she has been able to stay with us and just blend for a couple weeks. She wanted me to take this picture of her 'working' after dinner to prove to her Momma that she's on her best behaviour! She really didn't need the picture for proof, she's a great girl and helps with anything, anytime...we love you Eryn!

Now, this picture is of our Brin (Brittany). I just couldn't resist snapping this one of her fast asleep, with her scriptures in her hands, page open...what a sweetie...I guess scriptures can do that to a person sometimes (help you fall asleep...LOL)...but her sweet spirit shines through in this moment that I captured.

Now for some delightful, yummy stuff...chocolate cream cheese mini loaves. I made these tonight and some chocolate chip as well...mini loaves are better for my crew as a little muffin just doesn't cut it. I have some people...Taylor, Jenna...oops did I just reveal the guilty parties? Yes, they don't take the time to take food with them to school each day and they leave the house at 6 am and don't get home until 5 or 6 pm usually...ya, so if they aren't taking food...they're buying it or mooching it...both counts, not so great! If I make things a bit more grab-and-go, then at least they have NO excuse!

And lastly, my cute little Deedle Bug Dane...(his latest 'word' is "deedle"). He LOVES to sit and watch Baby Einstein and Your Baby Can Read. Both are soooooo amazing and in fact as a result of Your Baby Can Read, I have some very young readers in the house. The twins can read many words by sight such as elephant, tiger, arms, baby, toes, head, chimpanzee...yes, impressive...Brianna can read about 50 words and Brittany about 75. It's so amazing this program and it's meant for babies from 3 months to kids up to 6 years. He sits and watches the 20 minute DVD and doesn't MOVE! He will also sit in front of me when I'm using the cards with the words for the other kids...he'll crawl over and sit and stare at each word and try to make the actions for the words. He's going to be one smart little dude!
