Well, not that he wants everyone to know, but Taylor had surgery yesterday...let's see, in between minor and major...whatever that may be...maybe we'll call it 'flat' surgery...lol
We got there and he got to put on his special little gown and then the nurse came to start his iv. Well, he's got good veins and all went well, she got it first try. For some reason, he decided to LOOK while she did it and immediately after, he put his head back on the pillow and I noticed his eyes were 'vacant' and so I started slapping him (gently...but with serious intent!) and calling his name...I told the nurse he was 'gone' meaning...passed out of course. She called over another couple nurses. His eyes were wide, but up and back, pupils dilated and she tried to get him to come to when all of a sudden he started flailing and it looked like he was having a seizure. They asked me if he had a seizure disorder and I said NO and I think that's when he knocked the glasses off one of the nurses in his fit and the iv came flying out and a few seconds later he sort of came to, with laboured breathing and NO colour in his face, white lips...I think it was then that the nurse said 'oh, you look like Edward Cullen!' Which was sooooo true!
He de-sat to 80ish and had to be put on O2 to get him back up where he needed to be. He was in pain over his entire body because he had contracted every muscle so intensely. His hands were in pain because they were so tingly...like when your foot falls asleep...really bad...it took a good 20 minutes for that to get back to normal as well. He was really 'loopy' as well...saying things like, "whoa, I just had a really weird dream...a really fast dream..." It scared me to death! I don't know if I've recovered yet from the scare! So at this point, he has no iv and the doc had an emergency case so we waited for 5 more hours to get into surgery! At least he had a good nap and fully recovered from his 'episode'.
So off he went, a little nervous, but he did it. I guess when he was in the recovery room he let out a HUGE scream! Later he asked...was it a girl scream or a manly scream mom? I didn't hear it so I couldn't say for sure, but I think I told him it was manly, definitely manly. He was combative coming out of the anesthetic as well. When I was able to sit with him while he woke up, he was talking like a crazy person...saying things all drawn out and funny...like "the nurrrrssssessss and sooooooo nice!" with his voice going up and down..."I saw BIG lights..." I was laughing so hard I had to leave for a minute...he was so loud too...thank goodness no one else was there by that time! We made it home, pain-killers in hand and the boy is doing great.
Just another day in the life of the Heinzlmeirs...never a dull moment.

So does this mean that T still wants to become a Dr.? I'm glad that he is recovering...
Yes...as long as he doesn't try to give HIMSELF a needle...everyone will be just fine! LOL
