The choking child...

So, Taylor and Lewis were doing dishes and Taylor saw one of these gizmos sitting on the kitchen windowsil. So he decided to give it a whirl. Lewis had the bright idea to turn it around and suck IN instaed of blowing OUT. So Taylor winds up and sucks in a HUGE breath, and the little white wheely thing inside dislodges and like a bullet, shoots down his throat...it went into his trachea and he began choking and coughing and spewing but couldn't get it out. Then he thought he could puke it up, but no. So he's really distressed and having a hard time breathing so off we run to the ER. They get us in pronto and get a chest xray. But, they can't see it. Number one, it's plastic, and nubmer 2 it's small...but they could see some soft tissue damage along the way. They finally gave him a drink called a 'pink lady' that freezes the esophagus. Once it was frozen, he didn't feel anymore discomfort or pain and so they knew it had gone down that way and scraped the sides etc...but it wasn't in his trach. So, we then began the jokes...like it's too bad he didn't whistle when he breathed in and out...that would have made it more cool and less embarassing! We're just happy he's still breathing...whistle or not whistle! So anyway, the problem will 'work' itself out...lol
