Brianna turns 4!

So our Miss B. turned 4 on the 2nd of October. Wow! That's all I can say. Time has flown by since she was a babe and I can't believe how 'grown up' she is! She was the quietest baby ever...and now...ya, non-stop talker. But we are soooo entertained by her. Such as Taylor. He got home from school one day and was sitting on the couch. She went and sat on his lap and started stroking his cheek all affectionate-like asking a million questions like "Taylor, why are you so tired?" He told her because he had to go to school all day. She asked why and he proceeded to tell her it was the law. Of course she asked "what's the law?", so he told her it was like if he went in her room and took something, that would be stealing and that's breaking a law...her response to that, she sat up looked at him and said firmly with a twisted face..."you went in my ROOM?" It was hilarious. Then, Lew and his buddy were standing by the front door talking, and there was B. standing on the stairs looking at them. Lewis told her to go away and she replied with "I'm trying to learn here!" with a tone that insinuated he was ignorant.

Here favourite thing is ballet. She got a body suit and tutu and fake make-up. By then next day, she had taken some chap stick (which she always takes from someones drawer or purse and stashes in her own purse) and rubbed it up and down the sleeves of her new body suit. All I said was, "well, that's really sad, now you have to throw it away because you've ruined it..." I think it taught her a good lesson...she had to take responsibility for her actions and maybe finally she'll leave the chap stick alone! If she only put it on her lips, it wouldn't be a prob!

Dad's giving her bunny ears in this one...

Now, onto the garden. It's been 5 years up here without one...so we gave it a shot this year. Here is what my garden grew...carrots and spuds not bad...

and then there's the cukes, zucchini and beans...ya pathetic isn't it?

Well, I'm sure some folk up here have greater success...but with frost in July that wiped out the beans...and then they magically grew back...but by that time didn't have a chance.

The lettuce was bitter, the radishes, well, only a few people here even like them...and I'm not one so I can't say for sure, but we had lots and they were eaten. The peas were great, but mostly got eaten by two little dudes that had learned from Peter Rabbit...snitching from the pea patch when we'd play outside...but I thought it was great because it was about as healthy of a snack for a couple of 2 year olds that you can get...better than a fruit roll-up!

All in all, it was fun. We had the kids involved with planting and harvesting...meager as it was. Better luck next year!
